Introduction
The Multiprotocol Router Backbone Node (BN) product family comprising of Backbone
Concentrator Node (BCN) and Backbone Link Node (BLN) products is being discontinued
by Nortel*. The last order date is April 30, 2007 with the table below providing a list of
discontinued codes. Any Multiprotocol Router BN order codes not listed in the table have
also been discontinued.
Although no direct replacement exists at the time of this notice, customers are urged to
consider the Secure Router family, including the Secure Router 3120 as well as future
Secure Router models as potential replacements. Please note that the Secure Router
products are IP WAN routers and do not support legacy multiprotocol features of the
Multiprotocol Router BN. The Secure Router family provides superior price/performance
with advanced features in the areas of Routing, WAN, VPN, Security, Quality of Service and
Network Management.
