    Congratulations! You have made an excellent choice for your Lab. Hardy Diagnostics thanks you for the trust you have placed in our products and services. This operating manual has been designed to help you gain an understanding of the operation and application of our HemaPRO. For optimal utilization of all functions, we recommend that you thoroughly study this manual prior to beginning operation.

    Intended Use The HemaPRO hematology stainer is an automated, bench-top instrument designed for the staining of hematology slides for in vitro diagnostic use. This instrument accepts standard thickness 25mm x 75mm or 1” x 3” glass slides that are clean, specimen applied, fixed and ready for staining.

    CAUTION: The HemaPRO will only accept stain packs with an included module sold by Hardy Diagnostics’ QuickSlide™ to ensure optimal results. The instrument is calibrated only for these reagents. The use of other stain packs or solutions will void the warranty.

    Operating Instructions General Guidelines 4.1.1 Make sure the specimen smears are thoroughly dry before placing them into the cuvette. 4.1.2 Use high quality clean slides. We recommend ProSlide Premium, Frosted End, Slides (Cat. no. PF72P). Slides that have variable thickness may have variable staining results.

    Menu Options 4.4.1 The MENU key allows you to customize your stain and buffer times for both blood and marrow stains separately. 4.4.2 The stain and buffer times are changed in 5 second intervals. If times are changed press <F4> to save your selected time. Factory default settings are 30 seconds for stain and 30 seconds for buffer on the blood setting and 60 seconds for stain and 60 seconds for buffer on the marrow setting.

    Maintenance The orange pump tubes and color coded lines must be replaced every 6 to 12 months depending on use. To perform this procedure, do the following: Remove the lines from the stain bottles. Prime the unit twice to remove fluid from the old tubes and expel it into the waste container.
