Running the Blockpool Verification Script

The blockpool verification script can be run during normal operations; however, it is expected to degrade the
de-duplication performance by roughly 40% and also it is expected to take roughly 30 minutes per 1 TB of
blockpool size.
To run the blockpool verify script:
1. Connect to the DXi6900-S Node (see
2. At the command prompt, type the following command and press <Enter>:
/hurricane/blockpool/bin/blockpool verify +Dclusters_fast +Nlocal@localhost &
3. The following output displays:
N: Verifying cluster tree (fast)...
N: Verifying cluster tree (fast) (1% complete)
N: Verifying cluster tree (fast) (2% complete)
N: Verifying cluster tree (fast) (3% complete)
4. When running a blockpool verification script, watch for the following messages:
W: Cluster 107 contains corrupt data
5. This message when seen during a blockpool verification, indicates that while checking the specified
cluster, there was a discrepancy between the stored CRC and the calculated CRC of some data in the
