Other Features of e808

e808 provides many multimedia functions: message, Java™ programs, and multimedia player. You can
easily personalise e808 functions by using menu functions. (Refer to How to Use Menu Function on page
47 for details.)

Messaging

e808 supports four types of messaging services: Text message, Multimedia message, Video message and
Email.
The following describes these services:
• Text message service is suitable for exchanging short text messages. Refer to Message on page 57 for
details.
Suggestions:
For business: Send a message to a colleague saying you will be 10 minutes late for a meeting.
For fun: Tell a friend the movie schedule for Friday night.
• Multimedia message service sends a slide show of images, audio and text. Multimedia message is only
available in the 3G mode. Refer to Message on page 57 for details.
Suggestions:
For business: Send a slide show of a new house listing to a client with a message.
For fun: Snap a photo of a celebrity and send to a friend.
• Video message is a form of Multimedia messaging and allows you to send a message with up to 60
attachments (total file size 100KB max.): take a photo, or record a short movie and attach it to a
message. Video messaging is only available in the 3G mode. Refer to Message on page 57 for details.
Suggestions:
For business: Make a video of your product and send it to a client with a message.
For fun: Send a short movie of your birthday party to a friend.
• Email allows you to send messages to email addresses with ringtunes (MID), images (GIF, JPEG, BMP),
audio (AAC, WMA), video (MPEG4) and other types of files attached. You can also send a message with
cc and bcc. Email is only available in 3G mode. Refer to Email on page 76 for details.
Suggestions:
For business: Receive document files attached to an email, and forward it to your PC email address.
For fun: Send the latest sports result to a group of friends who share the same interest.
Java™ Application
You can download Java™ Applications (games, utility software, etc.) to your e808. The downloaded Java™
Application will be listed in Java™ (press the MENU key → select Java™). Refer to Java™ on page 93 for
details. Java™ is only available in the 3G mode.
