Warning (PDW) (if equipped)
Reverse Parking Distance Warning will
warn the driver if an obstacle is detected
when the vehicle is backing up at low
speeds.
WARNING
僅 Reverse Parking Distance Warning is
a supplemental function. The opera-
tion of Reverse Parking Distance
Warning can be affected by several
factors (including environmental con-
ditions). It is the responsibility of the
driver to always check the rear view
before and while parking.
僅 Pay close attention when driving near
objects, pedestrians, and especially
children.
僅 Some objects may not be detected by
the ultrasonic sensors due to the
objects distance, size or material, all of
which can limit the effectiveness of
the sensor.
僅 Your new vehicle warranty does not
cover any accidents or damage to the
vehicle or injuries to its occupants.

detailed location of the rear ultrasonic
sensors (1).
CAUTION
僅 Take the following precautions to
maintain optimal performance of the
detecting sensor:
- Never disassemble the detecting
sensors or sensor assembly, or
apply any impact on it.
- If the detecting sensors have been
replaced or repaired, have the sys-
tem inspected by an authorized Kia
dealer.
僅 Reverse Parking Distance Warning
may not operate normally when:
- Moisture is frozen on the sensor
- Sensor is covered with foreign mat-
ters, such as snow or water
僅 Reverse Parking Distance Warning
will operate normally when such for-
eign matters are removed.
僅 Reverse Parking Distance Warning
may malfunction when:
- Driving on uneven road, gravel
roads or bushes
