Use the volume control keys located on the left side of the portable
phone to control the audio level of the car kit speaker.

PRIVATE CONVERSATION

A call may be privatized at any point by one of the following methods:
• Remove the phone from the cradle and continue the conversation
using the phone itself.
• Insert a compatible 2.5mm headset device into the phone's headset
jack.
USING DATA FUNCTIONS
To use the data modes with the car kit, simply connect the appropriate
data cable to the cradle data port. This port accepts the same data cables
that normally connect directly to the phone. With the phone in the cra-
dle, all data applications will function as if the data cable were con-
nected directly to the phone.
IGNITION
This kit features an ignition sensing function. This allows the phone and
car kit to power on and off automatically under certain conditions as fol-
lows:
• When the vehicle ignition is turned on with the phone in the cradle,
the phone and car kit will automatically power on.
• When the vehicle ignition is turned off with the phone in the cradle,
the phone and car kit will automatically power off. If the phone is in
a call at the time the ignition is turned off, the call will be allowed to
complete before the phone and car kit power off.
• When in a data configuration, the above functions are suspended.
Data configurations are:
a. RS232 cable is attached to the cradle port, or
b. USB cable is attached to the cradle data port and attached to a
powered-on computer or USB device.
• While in the cradle (in any configuration), the phone may be
powered on or off manually by using the phone's power button.
This allows for the following applications:
a. While the vehicle ignition is on and the phone is manually pow-
ered off, the car kit will remain on and the phone's battery will
continue to charge while in the cradle.
