Foods not listed in the Guide can be defrosted using M •LOW setting.
NOTE: When freezing m inced m eat, shape it into flat even sizes.
For chicken pieces, steaks and chops, freeze separately in single flat layers and if necessary
interleave w ith freezer plastic to separate layers.
This w ill ensure even defrosting.
It is also a good idea to label the packs w ith the correct w eights.

• Shield thin end of chops or steaks

• Position the food with thinner parts
in the centre in a single layer on a
defrost rack.
If pieces are stuck together, try to
separate as soon as possible.
• When the oven has stopped,
rem ove defrosted pieces, turn
o v er an d sh i el d t h e w ar m
portions of rem aining pieces.
• After defrost tim e, stand covered
w ith alum inium foil.
• Shield the edge w ith foil strips
about 2.5cm w ide.
0.5-3.0 kg
• Place joint w ith lean side face

upw ards (if possible) on the
defrost rack.
• When the oven has stopped, turn
over and shield the warm portions.
• After defrost tim e, stand covered
w ith alum inium foil.
• Remove from original wrapper.
1.0-4.0 kg
Shield wing and leg tips with foil.
• Place breast side down on a defrost
rack.
• When the oven has stopped, turn
over and shield the warm portions.
• After defrost time, stand covered
with aluminium foil.
N.B. After standing run under cold

• Shield the exposed bone w ith
0.1-3.0 kg
foil.
• Place chicken pieces on a defrost
rack.
• When the oven has stopped,
rem ove any defrosted pieces,
turn over and shield the w arm
