B Carrier gas installation and
maintenance
This appendix provides a description of the optional carrier manifold (P/N 2-3-5000-050)
that permits the connection of two carrier gas bottles, or cylinders, to a gas
chromatograph (GC) system.

Carrier gas

The benefits of this manifold are as follows:
Note
The illustration and information in this appendix are adapted from drawing AE-10098.
• When one bottle is nearly empty (i.e., 110 psig [758.4 kPa] remaining), the other bottle
becomes the primary supply.
• You can disconnect each bottle for refilling without interrupting gas chromatograph
(GC) operation.
