MODEL 610
This unit comes complete with three (3) nickel cadium batteries and 9V AC power adapter for
battery charging, eliminating the need to ever buy, or replace batteries. Under normal operating
conditions, the batteries require charging once a month.
• The battery operated alarm is activated by turning the battery switch "On".
• If the sensor probe is immersed in Liquid Nitrogen, there is no audible signal from the alarm unit.
When the sensor is removed from the liquid nitrogen, the audible signal will sound
in a few seconds (5 to 15 typically.)
• The audible signal can be tested when the sensor is immersed in liquid nitrogen by pushing the
"Push toTest" button. The audible signal will sound for 5 days contiuously depending on the
charge level of the batteries.
• The audible signal can be silenced by correcting the low liquid nitrogen level problem, or turning
the battery switch to "Off".
• In the event that the single thermistor should open or break, a tone will alert the operators.
• The battery and alarm horn can be tested at any time.
• When the batteries begin to go low, the unit produces an audible sound.

CHARGING THE BATTERY

A battery charging circuit is built into the alarm unit, and a 120V AC to 9V AC power adapter (or
Optional 220V) is provided.
The unit needs to be periodically recharged to maintain the batteries at peak voltage.
It is recommended that you recharge every week-end, a minimum of once a month. Recharging
time is approximately 15 hours.
The battery charger light will indicate that the batteries are being charged.
