Important: Read and Follow the Printed Installation Instructions and Use &
Care Guide that Came with Your A. O. Smith Water Heater.

Shut off main gas supply or close ball valve on gas connection.

Shut off main water supply or close ball valve on cold water inlet to water heater.
3
Turn on hot water at the nearest faucet, which will help drain tank.
4
Drain existing water heater and remove. Speed up drain time by using a transfer pump
(See HD Supply Part # 402453 or 403116).
