The VISTA allows the selection of 9 operating languages;
English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Danish, Finnish,
Swedish and Greek may be chosen. To select the operating
language, press the button labeled LANGUAGE. A display
window as shown at right will pop up on the screen showing
the available languages and the one currently selected. Use
the large front panel knob to change (highlight) the language
selection. Once selected, press any key to save your selection
and exit.
Transducer Align Adjustment
The VISTA also includes an adjustment to compensate for
transducer installation problems, especially thru-hull
installations, where the transducer is not mounted so it points
straight ahead. This problem will cause targets directly in
front of the boat to appear shifted off to the port or starboard
side. Use the following procedure to identify and correct for
transducer misalignment.
When the boat is pointed directly toward a known target (such
as a piling or buoy, the target should appear in the center of
the VISTA'S FWD scanning display. If not, go to the
SET-UP and press the ALIGN button and turn the large
knob to adjust. The numbers in the ALIGN menu bar
indicate how many degrees to port or starboard that you're
adjusting.
For example, if before the adjustment a known target directly
in front of the boat appeared approximately 5 degrees to the
left of center, then you would adjust the Alignment to +5.
Positive numbers move the target to the right (starboard) and
negative numbers move the target to the left (port). After
making the adjustment return to the FWD display to verify
that your setting has corrected the problem.
It is possible to adjust +/- 15 degrees.
VISTA's memory will retain the setting.
