1. Oil filter cover
2. Drain bolt (filter cover)
5. Remove the oil filter cover
bolts and the oil filter cover.
NOTE:
The oil filter cover is secured by
three bolts. The lower bolt should
be removed first so that the filter
cavity will drain.
PERIODIC MAINTENANCE AND MINOR REPAIR
1. Oil filter element
2. O-ring (×2)
6. Clean the oil filter and strainer
with solvent. Replace if neces-
sary.
7. Check the O-ring. If damaged,
replace.
8. Install the drain bolt and oil fil-
ter cover. Tighten the oil filter
cover bolts to the specified
torque.
NOTE:
Make sure the O-ring is seated
properly.

Before reinstalling the oil drain
bolt, do not forget to install the O-
ring, compression spring, and oil
strainer in position.

Tightening torque:
Drain bolt:
43 Nm (4.3 m.kg)
Filter cover bolt:
7 Nm (0.7 m.kg)
Drain bolt (filter cover):
10 Nm (1.0 m.kg)
9. Fill the engine with oil. Install
the oil filler cap and tighten it.
