Instructions for installing new battery conversion kit: 529606801
Husqvarna is no longer supplying new batteries for the Automower 320, 330X and 420. Instead, they
supply a conversion kit that allows these machines to be equipped with a new generation battery (as
used in the Automower 520/550 from year of construction 2020). Disassembling and reassembling
the Automower is entirely at your own risk and any form of warranty will be void (however, as
Husqvarna no longer supplies the old batteries, there is no other choice). Below is a step-by-step
explanation of how to insert the new battery. If you want to convert the Automower 330X you need
2 sets because this machine uses 2 batteries. The second battery holder can be kept as a spare or
thrown away.
Step 1: disassemble the cover
The hood is mounted on the chassis with four click closures. See Figure 1. The charging cable
attached to the hood charging strip must be disconnected to completely remove the hood from the
chassis.
Follow the steps below step by step.
1. Set the main switch to position 0 (off).
2. Clean the area around the grommet
for the charging cable at the very front
under the mower.
3. Pull the rubber grommet on the
charging cable and carefully
disconnect the plug.
4. Detach the cover from the chassis by
lifting the cover corner by corner
while holding the chassis in place.
Step 2: disassemble the chassis
The chassis consists of an upper and a lower part. They are attached to each other with 14 screws.
The 14 screws are indicated by arrows in Figure 2.
1. Loosen all 14 screws (torx 20). See Figure 2.
2. Remove the warranty seal at the separation point between the halves of the chassis. Note
that when it is removed, Husqvarna no longer gives any warranty on the Automower.
3. Carefully lift the rear edge of the top part of the chassis.
4. Disconnect the HMI cable from the main print. This is indicated by an arrow in Figure 3.
5. Now remove the top part of the chassis.
