ADVANCED FUNCTIONS

Processor Reset

There may be instances where you wish to fully reset the HS 300 to its
factory defaults, or the unit may behave erratically after a power surge.
For erratic behavior, we recommend you first turn the Power Switch off
and unplug the AC Power Cord for at least three minutes. Plug the cord
back in and turn the unit back on. If this doesn't work, you may want to
try a system reset.
NOTE: A system reset erases all user configurations, including
parental control, audio, video, speaker and level settings and
tuner presets. After a reset, you will need to reenter all of these
settings.
To reset the HS 300, turn it on, stop playback and remove any disc or
USB device. Press the Clear Button to remove any on-screen displays,
so that only the HS 300 "splash screen" is visible. Press and hold the
Clear Button for five seconds. The on-screen picture may jump, indicat-
ing a successful reset.
If the unit still does not function correctly after a processor reset, contact
an authorized Harman Kardon service center for assistance. Service
centers may be located by visiting our Web site at www.harmankardon.com.

Memory

If the HS 300 is unplugged or experiences a power outage, it will retain
user settings for up to four weeks.
