Remedy:
Replace the electrode wiring harness (red wire; one end is bolted to the
steam generator and the other end is connected to the power electronic).
Cause:
Level electrode defective.
Remedy:
Install a new steam generator. See Section 035-4.4.
Cause:
Drain valve (M29) does not close or is permanently open.
Remedy:
Note:
If the drain valve is not active, no water may flow into the drain area. This
can be checked via a visual inspection at the drain behind the cavity.
Install a new drain valve. See Section 035-4.6.
Cause:
Cooling-fan temperature limiter defective.
Remedy:
Install a new temperature limiter. Refer to Figure 045-17 for location.
Cause:
Feed pump (M7) defective.
Remedy:
Install a new feed pump. See Section 045-4.3.
Note:
The feed pump is equipped with a blocking diode, which can lead to faulty
resistance measurements. In order to ensure a correct measurement,
always measure the resistance of the feed pump twice with the polarity
reversed.
Note:
The temperature of the water that is pumped by the feed pump into the
steam generator must not exceed 95°F. Advise the customer to use cold
water only. With a plumbed connection, check that the appliance is
connected to the cold-water supply.
Cause:
Power electronic (N1-1) defective.
Remedy:
Install a new power electronic. See Section 045-4.8.
Cause:
Drain valve is not closing correctly.
