Electronic Heat Pump Thermostats

APPLICATION

The T8141A Electronic Heat Pump thermostats provide low
voltage (24 Vac) control of two-stage heating and one-stage
cooling in single speed heat pump systems.

FEATURES

• 24 Vac, 60 Hz direct wired operation.
• Manual heat-cool changeover.
• Two heat, one cool output stages.
• Setpoint temperature range 45°F to 90°F (7°C to 32°C)
for heating and 60°F to 95°F (16°C to 35°C) for cooling.
• Retains setpoint temperature during power outage.
• Cover thermometer.
• Fan mode selection of AUTO, ON.
• System mode selections of EM. HEAT, HEAT, OFF,
COOL (some models have EM. HEAT, GEO HEAT, OFF,
GEO COOL).
• LED display for second stage AUX. HEAT operation.
• LED display for EM. HEAT selection and external fault
indication (some models have GEO LOCK).
• EM. HEAT LED can also be powered to light when the
heat pump shuts down.

    Hold mounting plate in position and mark the holes for anchors. If you have questions, call Honeywell Inc. at 1-800- Set aside the mounting plate. 468-1502. Drill the three 3/16 in. (4.8 mm) holes and install the three wall anchors (provided).
  • Page 4 T8141A ELECTRONIC HEAT PUMP THERMOSTATS Reposition the mounting plate and insert the screws. Tighten the screws. Turn out the screws one-half turn. TERMINAL WIRES Level for appearance only; thermostat functions TERMINAL STRIP properly even when not level. See Fig. 2 and 3.

    T8141A ELECTRONIC HEAT PUMP THERMOSTATS Change the temperature setting to about 10°F (6°C) LED Indicators above the room temperature. The light-emitting diodes (LED) indicators will light under the Cooling equipment and fan should shut off after a delay. following conditions: To return to normal operation, set the thermostat AUX.

    • If fault indicator is connected to terminal L, and the EM. HEAT indicator is on, contact the Original Equipment Manufacturer or your HVAC dealer. • If EM. HEAT indicator is off, contact Honeywell Customer Assistance at 1-800-468-1502. Cooling will not come on.
