About the SELPHY CP800 Printer User Guide
Due to different firmware versions, there are two types (two versions) of the user guide
for the SELPHY CP800. Please check the serial number on the bottom of the printer
and click the right version for your printer.
1. How to tell which version you need based on the serial number
Bottom of printer
1) The sixth digit from the right is 0 or 1
2) The sixth digit from the right is 2 or greater 
There are also cases where the printer's firmware may have been updated to the second
version if the printer has been brought in for repairs. In such cases, a comment about
the update to the second version of the firmware appears on the repair order, and the
user guide for the second version (or an excerpt of the things that have changed) is
included with the repaired product.
2. The differences in the firmware versions
1) First version:
The settings for the printing layout (for printing multiple images on a single sheet, see
page 19 in the user guide) are saved even when the printer's power is turned off. This
can be convenient you intend to print with the same layout the next time the printer is
used, but if that is not the case, it can result in prints in an unexpected layout.
2) Second version:
The settings for the printing layout are reset to the 1-up setting (for printing one image
on a full sheet) when the printer's power is turned off. To save the settings for the
printing layout even after the printer's power has been turned off, you can change the
settings to be the same as they are in the first version using the operation buttons (see
page 19 of the user guide for the second version of the firmware).

    Caution Denotes the possibility of damage to the equipment. Unplug the product from the power outlet when you are not using it.  Do not place anything, such as cloth, on top of the printer while in use.  Leaving the unit plugged in for a long period of time may cause it to overheat and become distorted, resulting in fire.

    Printing a Variety of Images You can use various printing features, such as imprinting the shooting date or adjusting the color of an image. You do not need to repeat the settings for each image because once the settings are made, they are applied for all images.

    Using the Software to Print Use the installed software (SELPHY Photo Print) to print images from your computer. The [Simple print] feature will be explained in this section. Using this feature, you can view all your images at once and select which ones you want to print. If your computer is equipped with speakers, set the volume so that the audio guidance for necessary operations can be heard.

    Depending on the mobile phone model you use, images saved on the memory card may not be printed.  Depending on the color ink cassette/paper set  Select Canon CP800 (XX:XX:XX) (X stands for one digit) when selecting a target device name on your  mobile phone. You cannot establish a wireless connection between a computer and SELPHY.
