Air filter cleaning

•
Wash the sponge with water and neutral soap.
•
Dry with a clean cloth and short blasts of compressed air.
•
Impregnate it with the specified oil.
•
Gently squeeze the filtering element with your hands without wringing it; let
it drip dry and then refit.
CAUTION
IF THE VEHICLE IS USED ON DUSTY ROADS IT IS NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT
MAINTENANCE CHECKS OF THE AIR FILTER MORE OFTEN TO AVOID DAM-
AGING THE ENGINE.

Secondary air system (04_09)

Remove the four retaining screws from the aluminium SAS covers. Detach the metallic
pipes from their rubber housing on the covers, without removing them from the covers/
sleeves. Next, remove the tabs and the plastic cover, extract sponges and wash them
with soap and water.
Dry with compressed air before replacing, taking care to fit the tabs correctly in the
housing on the two plastic and aluminium covers. Each time this unit is dismantled,
replace the case sealing O-rings located in the dedicated housings on the covers is.
