Blade Maintenance

WARNING
The blade is sharp; contacting the blade can
result in serious personal injury.
• Disconnect the wire from the spark plug.
• Wear cut-resistant gloves when servicing
the blade.
Checking the Blade
Service Interval: Before each use or daily If the blade
is damaged, replace it immediately.

Prepare the machine for maintenance; refer to
Preparing for Maintenance (page

Tip the machine onto its side with the oil-filler
neck down.
Important:
Always tip the machine onto its
side with the dipstick aligned down. If the
machine is tipped in another direction, oil
may fill the valve train—requiring at least 30
minutes to drain.
3.
Check the blade for wear or damage.
If the blade is damaged or cracked, remove
and replace it immediately.
If the blade edge is dull or nicked, remove
it, have it sharpened or replaced, and install
the blade.
4.
Tip the machine upright.
Replacing the Blade
Service Interval: Yearly
Important:
You need a torque wrench to
install the blade. If you do not have a torque
wrench or are uncomfortable performing this
procedure, contact an authorized Toro distributor
or Authorized Service Dealer.
