Language and input
Change the settings for text input. Some options may not be available depending on the
selected language.
On the Settings screen, tap Language and input.
Language
Select a display language for all menus and apps.
Default
Select a default keyboard type for text input.
Samsung Chinese IME
To change the Samsung Chinese IME keyboard settings, tap
• T -Chinese(Hong Kong): Select a default keyboard layout for Chinese.
• E nglish: Select a default keyboard layout for English.
• S elect input language: Select languages for text input.
• P redictive text: Activate predictive text mode to predict English words based on your
input and show word suggestions.
• C HN/ENG mix input: Set the device to show both English and Chinese word suggestions
for your input in pinyin mode.
• L ink to contacts: Create a link to a contact in the input selection panel. You can tap and
hold the link to add the contact information.
• M y shortcuts: Set number shortcuts to frequently-used text. You can tap and hold a
number key to insert the preset text.
• S pace key to input association: Set the device to enter the highlighted Chinese word
when you tap the space bar.
