Guide Bar and Saw Chain Installation/Removal
1.
Align the brake connector (B) on
the sprocket guard cover (C) to
the groove on the side of the
brake lever (A) (Front hand
guard).
2.
Remove air cleaner cover and
disconnect spark plug lead.
3.
Move the chain brake lever (A)
(Front hand guard) fully
REARWARD (UNLOCK chain
brake) to remove or install the
sprocket guard cover (C).
4.
Remove sprocket guard cover
nuts (D) and remove sprocket
guard cover (C).
5.
Remove guide bar and saw
chain if necessary.
Note: See "Maintenance and
Care" section for guide
bar/saw chain
maintenance procedures.
6.
Mount guide bar on studs (E)
and slide toward sprocket (F) to
make saw chain installation
easier. Install saw chain around
sprocket (F) and guide bar.
Make sure chain cutters are on
top of guide bar and facing
forward as shown.
