Storage duration
of the frozen food
Depends on the type of food.
At a mean temperature:
S Fish, sausage, ready meals and cakes
and pastries:
up to 6 months
S Cheese, poultry and meat:
up to 8 months
S Vegetables and fruit:
up to 12 months

Fast freezing

Food should be frozen solid as quickly
as possible in order to retain vitamins,
nutritional value, appearance and flavour.
To prevent an undesirable temperature
rise when placing fresh food in the freezer
compartment, switch on fast freeze
several hours beforehand.
Smaller quantities of food can be frozen
without fast freeze.
Switching on and off

Press super" button 4.
If the superfreezing has been switched
on the button is lit.
Fast freeze" switches off automatically
after 2½ days at the latest.
Note
Fast freeze" may also slightly increase
refrigeration of the refrigerator compart
ment.
Features of the freezer
compartment

Ice cube tray

Fig. w
Fill the ice cube tray ¾ full of water and
place in the freezer compartment.
If the ice tray is stuck to the freezer
compartment, loosen with a blunt
implement only (spoon handle).
To loosen the ice cubes, twist the ice tray
slightly or hold briefly under flowing water.

Freezer calendar

The figures next to the symbols indicate
how many months the frozen food can be
stored for. Use by the "best before" date.
Ice block
Place the ice block (if enclosed) in the
freezer compartment and allow it to freeze
solid. If fresh food is placed in the freezer
compartment which already contains
frozen food, place the ice block on the
already frozen food. This prevents the
frozen food from warming up.
If there is no frozen food in the freezer
compartment, place the ice block on
the fresh food which is to be frozen.
This accelerates the freezing process.
Disconnecting the refrigerator and
cool fresh" compartments The ice blocks
can also be used to cool food temporarily,
e.g. in a cold bag.
