Hot and warm docking and undocking for ACPI platforms.
Hot swapping of MultiBay devices (CD-ROM, floppy, DVD, LS-120, battery) and

The operating system now controls most power management functions rather than
the BIOS. These functions include system sleep states, device low power states,

undocking and battery capacity. Having the OS control power management allows
better power management of individual devices and power management that takes
application usage into account. The end result is better overall power
management and longer battery life.
