Language & input
You can make settings for the language displayed on the
screen, character entry, text-to-speech, etc.

In the home screen,
[Language & input]

Select an item
Current selected
keyboard: Set the input software to use
when entering characters.
・ Touch [CHOOSE KEYBOARDS] to switch ON/OFF of the
input software using on the handset.
Google
Keyboard: Make settings for Google Keyboard.
S-Shoin: Make settings for S-Shoin. For details on each item
that can be set nP. 19 "Setting character entry"
Google voice
typing: Make settings for Google voice typing.
Moji-Henshu: Check information on the app or the open
source licenses of Moji-Henshu.
Select
language: Select Japanese/English.
Voice
input: Make settings for the voice input.
Text-to-speech
output: Make settings for the voice for
reading the characters displayed on the handset.
Spell
checker: Make settings for Spell checker.
Personal
dictionary: Register any words into Personal
dictionary and display them as conversion candidates when
you enter characters with Google Keyboard.
Pointer
speed: Set the speed of the pointer.
Character code
setting: Set a character code to use when
sending data from an app.
Keyboard
When you enter Japanese, use S-Shoin.
[Google Keyboard], [S-Shoin], [Moji-Henshu], [Google
voice typing]
These are displayed/hidden depending on the settings of
[CHOOSE KEYBOARDS] in Current selected keyboard.
[Spell checker]
Japanese is not supported.
Backup & reset
You can back up data using a Google account, transfer data to/
from among devices, perform Reset all, etc.

& reset]

Back up my
data: Set whether to automatically back up app
data, Wi-Fi passwords, etc. using a Google account.
Backup
account: Set a Google account to use when backing
up data.
Automatic
restore: Set whether to restore backed up data,
settings, etc. of an app when you re-install the app.
transfer: For details nP. 66 "Data transfer"
Data
all: For details nP. 67 "Resetting all"
Reset
[R]/[Settings]/
Data transfer
You can import data or back up/restore data on the handset
using a microSD Card. In addition, you can import phonebook
data on other devices using the Bluetooth function.
The following data can be backed up to/restored from a microSD
Card.
Phonebook
SMS
Bookmark
Calendar

User/Learning dictionary (S-Shoin)
* You need to download the app separately.
While you are backing up data to a microSD Card, [Airplane
mode] is ON.
When the available space on the handset memory is less than 11
MB, you cannot back up data to a microSD Card.
Insert a microSD Card in advance when using one.

transfer) to activate it.

Bluetooth function.

microSD: Save data on a microSD Card.

Saving backup file

In the home screen, [R]/[Settings]/[Backup
& reset]/[Data transfer]

Enter the passcode/[OK]

Select the data categories to save
: If you select [Address Book], the screen for selecting which
account to save is displayed.

You cannot save the data when the battery level is insufficient.
Restoring backup file

& reset]/[Data transfer]

Enter the passcode/[OK]

Select backup files to restore/[Add
registration]/[Delete and register]
: The confirmation screen appears. Follow the instructions on
the screen and operate after this step.
You cannot restore the data when the battery level is
insufficient.
Note that, when you restore User/Learning dictionary (S-Shoin)
data, User/Learning dictionary (S-Shoin) data saved on the
handset memory is deleted even if you select [Add registration].
