  • Page 12 AVVIAMENTO DEL GENERATORE Funzionamento ad alta quota (oltre i 1500 metri di altitudine slm) In alta quota, il carburatore miscela aria e carburante in quantità eccessiva. Le prestazioni scadono e il consumo di carburante aumenta. Le prestazioni ad alta quota possono essere migliorate disponendo un getto di carburante di diametro minore nel carburatore.
  • Page 13 USO DEL GENERATORE ATTENZIONE ■ Per evitare scosse elettriche da apparecchi difettosi, il generatore deve essere collegato a terra. Connettere un filo pesante tra il terminale di terra del generatore e una sorgente di terra esterna. ■ I collegamenti al sistema elettrico di un edificio devono essere eseguiti da un elettricista qualificato e devono essere conformi a tutte le leggi e ai codici elettrici.

  • Page 15 USO DEL GENERATORE Indicatori luminosi di Uscita e sovraccarico La spia verde di uscita rimarrà accesa in condizioni operative normali. Se il generatore è in sovraccarico (oltre 1.0kVA), o se c’è un cortocircuito nel dispositivo collegato, la spia verde di uscita si spegne e si accende la spia rossa di sovraccarico, quindi l’uscita ove è col- legato l’apparecchio si arresta.

    AVVIAMENTO MOTORE Avviare il motore. ■ La presa DC può essere utilizzata mentre l’uscita AC è in uso. ■ Un sovraccarico del circuito DC farà scattare il dispositivo di protezione del circuito DC. In questo caso, attendere qualche minuto prima di premere il pulsante di protezione del circuito per riprendere il funzionamento.
  • Page 19 INTERRUTTORE INTELLIGENTE “SMART-THROTTLE” Con l’interruttore smart-throttle in posizione ON, la velocità del motore si abbassa automaticamente quando i carichi sono ridotti, spenti o scollegati. Quando gli apparecchi sono accesi o collegati, il mo- tore eroga corrente alla velocità corretta per alimentare il carico elettrico. In posizione OFF, il sistema smart-throttle non funziona.

    MANUTENZIONE Lo scopo del programma di manutenzione e riparazione è di mantenere il generatore nella migliore condizione di funzionamento. ATTENZIONE ■ Spegnere il motore prima di eseguire qualsiasi intervento di manutenzione. Se il motore deve funzionare, assicurarsi che l’area sia ben ventilata. Togliere il coperchio di manutenzione della candela. 2. Togliere il cappuccio della candela. 3.
  • Page 26 PULIZIA DELLE CANDELE 5. Controllare visivamente la candela. Scartarla se l’isolatore è rotto o scheggiato. Pulire la candela con una spazzola metallica per il riutilizzo. 6. Misurare la distanza tra gli elettrodi con uno spessimetro. La distanza deve essere 0.024-0.028in (0.6-0,7 mm). Correggere se necessario piegando con cau- tela l’elettrodo laterale.

  • Page 39 SERIAL NUMBER AND IDENTIFICATION LOCATION The engine serial number identifi es your particular unit and is important when ordering parts and accessories. The serial number can be found engraved on the crankcase beside the oil fi lter cap. It is visible when the left maintenance cover is removed.

    PRE-OPERATION CHECK CAUTION Be sure to check the oil level before each use with the generator on a level surface with the engine stopped. 1. Check the engine oil level. CAUTION ■ Using non detergent oil or 2-stroke engine oil could shorten the engine’s service life.
  • Page 41 PRE-OPERATION CHECK NOTE: The Low Oil Alarm System will automatically stop the engine when the oil level falls below the safe limit. However, to avoid the inconvenience of an unexpected shutdown, it is still advisable to visually inspect the oil level regularly 2.
  • Page 42 PRE-OPERATION CHECK Do not overfi ll the fuel tank (there should be no fuel above the upper limit mark). After refueling, make sure the tank cap is closed properly and securely. ■Be careful not to spill fuel when refueling. Spilled fuel or fuel vapor may ignite, if any fuel is spilled, make sure the area is dry before starting the engine.

  • Page 45 STARTING THE ENGINE High altitude operation At high altitude, the standard carburetor air-fuel mixture will be excessively rich. Performance will decrease, and fuel consumption will increase. A very rich mixture will also foul the spark plug and cause hard starting. Operation at an altitude that differs from that at which this engine was certi- fied, for extended periods of time, may increase emissions.

    GENERATOR USE WARNING ■To prevent electrical shock from faulty appliances, the generator should be grounded. Connect a length of heavy wire between the generator’s ground terminal and an external ground source. ■Connections for standby power to a building’s electrical system must be made by a qualified electrician and must comply with all applicable laws and electrical codes.

  • Page 50 GENERATOR USE CAUTION When equipment requiring a large starting power, like a motor etc., is used, the overload indicator light (red) and the output indicator light (green)may light together for a short time (about 4 sec), but this is no abnormality. After start of the equipment, the overload indicator light (red) will go out and the output indicator light (green) will stay lit.

    STOPPING THE ENGINE To stop the engine in an emergency, turn the engine switch to the OFF position. Under normal conditions, use the following procedure. 1.     MAINTENANCE Good maintenance is essential for safe, economical and trouble-free operation. It will also help reduce air pollution. The purpose of the maintenance and adjustment schedule is to keep the generator in the best operating condition WARNING ■ Shut off the engine before performing any maintenance. If the engine must be run, make sure the area is well ventilated.

    AIR CLEANER SERVICE Wash your hands with soap and water after handing used oil. NOTE ■Improper disposal of engine oil can be harmful to the environment. If you change your own oil, please dispose of it properly. Put it in a sealed container, and take it to a recycling center.

    SPARK PLUG SERVICE RECOMMENTED SPARK PLUG: NHSP LD A7RTC To ensure proper engine operation, the spark plug must be properly gapped and free of deposits. 1. Remove the spark plug maintenance cover. 2. Remove the spark plug cap. 2. Remove the spark plug cap. 3.
  • Page 59 SPARK PLUG SERVICE 5. Visually inspect the spark plug. Replace it if the electrode is worn, or if the insulator is cracked, chipped or fouled. Clean the spark plug with a wire brush if it is to be reused. 6. Measure the spark plug electrode gap with a wire-type feeler gauge. The gap should be 0.024-0.028in (0.6-0.7mm).
  • Page 60 TRANSPORTING/STORAGE To prevent fuel spillage when transporting or during temporary storage, the generator should be secured upright in its normal operating position with the engine switch OFF. Turn the fuel cap vent lever fully counterclockwise to the “O” position. Do not lay the generator on its side when moving, storing or operating it. Oil may leak and dam- age the generator or you property.
