Using a Frame Pattern To Make an Appliqué
Note
• If you change the size or position of the patterns
when making an appliqué, make a note of the size
and the location.
■ Method 1
You can use framed patterns of the same size and shape to
create an appliqué. Embroider one pattern with a straight
stitch and one pattern with a satin stitch.

Select a straight stitch frame pattern. Embroider the
pattern onto the fabric for the appliqué piece, then cut
neatly around the outside of the shape.

Embroider the same pattern from step
base fabric.

Apply two-sided stabilizer material to the back of the
fabric for the appliqué piece created in step
the appliqué to the base fabric matching the shapes.

Select the satin stitch frame pattern of the same shape
as the appliqué. Embroider over the fabric for the
appliqué piece and base fabric from step
the appliqué.

Select a straight stitch frame pattern, and embroider
the pattern onto the base fabric.
