CUTTING MEANS FITTING
1. Clean the dirt and grass from around the cutting-means
assembly area.
2. Fit cutting means [2] using
the two bolts [5] and special
washers [1] as shown. Fit
the special washers with
their convex side, marked
"OUT", facing the bolts
head.
CAUTION:
• Viewed from below, the cutting means turns counterclockwise.
When reinstalling, place the cutting means so its cutting edges
face this direction of rotation (punched reference oriented against
cutting-means holder).
• The cutting-means bolts are specially designed for this purpose.
Do not use other screws.
3. Retighten the cutting-means bolts using a torque wrench [4].
Use a wood block to stop the cutting means rotating when
tightening the screws.
Cutting-means bolt tightening torque: from 49 to 59 Nm
CAUTION:
• If you do not have the required sharpening equipment or a torque
wrench [4], ask your approved Honda dealer to tighten the
cutting-means bolts for you before you use the lawnmower.
• If the cutting-means bolts are too tight or too slack, they may
break or unscrew.
GRASS CATCHER CLEANING AND
REPLACEMENT
GRASS CATCHER FABRIC CLEANING
CAUTION:
• Washing with a high pressure water or
steam jet will damage the grass catcher
fabric.
• Blocked mesh will prevent the grass from
entering the grass catcher fabric.
• To clean the grass catcher fabric, we
recommend washing it using a water jet
directed from the outside to the inside of
the grass catcher fabric. The grass
catcher fabric must be completely dry
before being used again. If the grass
catcher fabric is damp, it will become clogged very quickly.
Objects struck by the cutting means may be thrown through a
torn or damaged grass catcher.
Objects thrown out by the cutting means can cause serious
injuries. Always replace a torn or damaged grass catcher.
GRASS CATCHER FABRIC REPLACEMENT
The grass catcher fabric tends to wear even in normal conditions of
use. Regularly check that it is not frayed or torn. Replace a
damaged grass catcher fabric with Honda Genuine parts.
1. Detach the plastic
edges [6] of the worn grass
catcher fabric [7] and
remove the grass catcher
frame [8].
2. Fit a new grass catcher
fabric, following the
instructions on
page 4
of
this manual.
