Hold the power tool only by the insulated
gripping surfaces, when performing an op-
eration where the cutting tool may run into
hidden wiring or its own cord.
Contact with a "live" wire will make exposed
metal parts of the tool "live" and shock the op-
erator.
Always direct the cable to the rear away from
the machine.
Insert the mains plug only when the machine is
switched off.
When working with the machine, always hold it
firmly with both hands and provide for a secure
stance.
Apply the machine to the surface to be worked
only when switched off.
Do not operate the machine without load.
Always switch the machine off and wait until it
has come to a standstill before placing it down.
Never allow children to use the machine.
Bosch is only able to ensure perfect operation
of the machine if the original accessories in-
tended for it are used.

Electrical Connection

The voltage and frequency of the power
source must correspond with the data
given on the nameplate of the machine.
To increase personal safety, it is recom-
mended in special cases to use a residual
current device, for example, for high con-
tamination with conductive dust.
The machine may be connected only to
properly earthed mains. The socket and ex-
tension cable must have a functional pro-
tective conductor.
Mounting the Plug
For operating the HF power tools, a frequency
converter is required that generates three-phase
current with a frequency of 200 or 300 Hz.
Frequency converters are available in various
sizes with different frequencies, secondary volt-
ages and power ratings. The selection of the con-
verter is dependent on the machine to be con-
nected.
The machine is delivered with a special, four me-
tre long cable without plug.
A four-pole CEE plug (16 A capacity) with the
identifying colour of green is necessary. The pro-
tective contact socket must be in the 10 o'clock
position.

Auxiliary Handle

Use the machine only with the auxiliary
handle 4.
The auxiliary handle 4 can be rotated around the
axis of the machine after loosening the knurled
nut and adapted to the working position in this
manner.
By sliding in the lengthways direction, the auxil-
iary handle can be adapted to the arm length.

Changing the Tool

Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.
Dust protection cap (Accessory)
The dust protection cap 1 largely prevents the
entry of drilling dust during operation. When in-
serting the tool, take care that the dust protection
cap 1 is not damaged.
Place the dust protection cap 1 onto the tool shaft
as shown in the picture. When the tool has been
inserted, the dust protection cap must cover the
front part of the tool holder 3.
