Chapter 4
• WMM
– This function can guarantee the packets with high-priority messages being
transmitted preferentially.
• AP Isolation
– This function isolates all connected wireless stations so that wireless
stations cannot access each other through WLAN.
• Airtime Fairness
– This function can improve the overall network performance by
sacrificing a little bit of network time on your slow devices.
• Beacon Interval
– Enter a value between 40 and 1000 in milliseconds to determine
the duration between beacons packets that are broadcasted by the access point to
synchronize the wireless network. The default value is 100 milliseconds.
• RTS Threshold
– Enter a value between 1 and 2346 to determine the packet size of
data transmission trough the access point. If the packet is larger than the specified
threshold, the access point will send RTS (Request to Send) frames to a particular
receiving station and negotiate the sending of a data frame. Or else the packet will be
sent immediately. The default value is 2346.
• DTIM Interval
– This value determines the interval of the Delivery Traffic Indication
Message (DTIM). A DTIM field is a countdown field informing clients of the next
window for listening to broadcast and multicast messages. When the access point
has buffered broadcast or multicast messages for associated clients, it sends the
next DTIM with a DTIM Interval value. Enter a value between 1 and 15 Beacon Intervals.
The default value is 1, indicating that the DTIM Interval is the same as Beacon Interval.
• Group Key Update Period
the time interval for the encryption key automatic renewal. The default value is 0,
indicating no key renewal.
