SETTING THE ANSWER
IMM/DEL/TOL S
SWITCH
The
ANSWER IMM/DEL/TOL S
on the back of the TAD controls how
long the TAD waits before it answers
a call.
(Immediate Answer)
IMM
TAD answers on the first or second
ring.
DEL
(Delayed Answer)
answers after four rings.
(Toll Saver)
TOL S
messages, the TAD answers after
about four rings. If there are messag-
es, the TAD answers after about two
rings. This gives you time to hang up
before the TAD answers so you can
avoid unnecessary charges if you
call by long-distance.
SETTING THE TAD TO
ANSWER CALLS
When you press
ANSWER
sounds a beep, rewinds to the begin-
ning of the incoming messages, and
is set to answer calls. The answer in-
dicator lights steadily.

calls, press

• After the TAD records a mes-
sage, it rewinds to the beginning
of the tape to update its backup
information and then resets to
record the next message.
When the tape is full, you can
erase the tape (see "Erasing
Messages") or install a new one,
but do not turn the tape over.

operate properly.
