connected
to
a
proper

power
supply.
The
Robotic Interface
II sends
a
115
vac
signal
to the
Touch Sensor
to
close
the
contactor
before
welding begins.
The
contactor
remains closed until the
welding
current
drops
below 15 amperes
which is sensed
by
reed switch
CR2. When
no
weld current is
detected,
the
contactor
deenergizes.

Touch Sensor Pilot
Light
Pilot
light
goes
on
when 170 vdc is
present
on
voltage
sense
leads.
The
Touch
Sensor
receives
a
signal
from the robot controller
to
begin
the touch
sensing operation.
The
contactor
deenØrgizes
to
prevent
any low
impedance path
through
the
welding
power
source.
The Touch Sensor
provides
170
vdc to the
voltage
sense
leads.
When less than
1.5k ohms of
resistance is
detected,
a
signal
is
sent
to
the
robot
controller
indicating
a
touch
by
the
welding
wire.
