The 4022-40 Precision Scanner for Wire Calender uses a third variation of
the shutter status satellite box based on its application specific sensor
compliment and required shutter status indicators. See Chapter 7 for more
details.
Figure 5-7 shows the cable end support and its contents, including:
• Shutter Status satellite box (indicates whether the basis weight
and Ash sensor shutters are open or closed)
• Head drive system (head drive motor, reduction pulleys, and
drive belts) – moves the heads back and forth across the scanner
frame.
• Head separation clutch assembly with solenoid-operated air
cylinder.
• Emergency Stop switch
• Upper and lower power track terminations
• Alternate optional location for Scan Control Panel
• Main power disconnect
• Sample/Reference Panel with Motor Enable and Head-Split
Switches
Indicates that the shutter for the isotope source
(basis weight) is open.
Indicates that the shutter for the X-ray source (ash
sensor) is open.
Indicates that the shutters for isotope (basis weight)
and X-ray (ash sensor) sources are closed.
Indicates that the X-ray (ash sensor) source has
power.
