signs have been detected. These can also be
displayed in the media display and optionally
in the head-up display.
If Tra c Sign Assist cannot determine the maxi-
mum permissible speed (e.g. due to missing
signs), the following display appears in the Instru-
ment Display:
This is displayed continuously if the vehicle is in a
country where Tra c Sign Assist is not supported.
Tra c Sign Assist is not available in all countries.

The system can warn you if you approach a
pedestrian crossing with your vehicle. The ¯

The system may be impaired or may not function
particularly in the following situations:
If there is poor visibility, e.g. due to insu cient
R
illumination of the road, highly variable shade
conditions, rain, snow, fog or heavy spray.
If there is glare, e.g. from oncoming tra c,
R
direct sunlight or re ections.
If the windscreen in the area of the multifunc-
R
tion camera is dirty, or if the camera is misted
up, damaged or covered.
If the tra c signs are hard to detect, e.g. due
R
to dirt, snow or insu cient lighting, or
because they are covered.
If the information in the navigation system's
R
digital map is incorrect or out-of-date.
If signs are ambiguous, e.g. road signs in road-
R
works or in adjacent lanes.
If you turn sharply when passing tra c signs
R
outside the camera's eld of vision.
