Service Hinweise
General-Reset
Im Service Menü (S. 1-12) kann unter Menüpunkt "Reset Every-
thing" der General-Reset durchgeführt werden.
Achtung: Hier werden auch der Betriebsstundenzähler sowie alle
Senderspeicher gelöscht.
Masse-Bänder
Die Masse-Bänder, die das Display mit dem Gehäuse verbinden,
müssen nach der Reparatur wieder angebracht werden. Defekte
Masse-Bänder müssen ersetzt werden.
Software-Update
Benötigt wird:
- Update-Programm: "FlashUpgrader.exe" (für Windows 98 und
Windows ME) oder "FlashUpgraderNT.exe" (für Windows NT4.0,
Windows 2000 sowie Windows XP), wird als Zip-Datei geliefert.
Unter Windows 95 ist kein Update möglich.
- Null-Modem Kabel: Serielles Datenkabel (RS232) mit beidseiti-
gem 9p. weiblichen Steckverbinder benötigt. Das Kabel muss ge-
kreuzt verdrahtet sein.
- Neue Software: Wird als Zip-Datei geliefert.
Update:
- Update-Progamm und neue Software in ein neues Verzeichnis
entpacken.
- Gerät abschalten (Netzschalter).
- Entsprechendes Update-Programm starten.
- Über "Choose..." die Datei "*.inf" im neu angelegte Verzeichnis
mit den Firmware-Daten ausgewählen.
- "Connection" auf "Serial" einstellen, benutzten COM Port sowie
die Baud-Rate einstellen(115200 wird empfohlen).
- Alle weiteren Optionen verbleiben auf "Default" Position.
- "Flash" anklicken - das Programm wird in Bereitschaft geschaltet.
- Gerät mit Netzschalter einschalten. Das Update startet automa-
tisch, der Fortschritt des Updates wird über eine Balkenanzeige
mitgeteilt. Je nach gewählter Baudrate, dauert das Update ca. 3
bis 6 Minuten.
Nach Beendigung des Updates erfolgt eine Meldung am PC und
das Plasma Display startet selbsständig in den Stand-By Mode.
Gewährleistung
Wir weisen ausdrücklich darauf hin, dass nur von GRUNDIG freige-
gebene System-Software zulässig ist. Wurde als Fehlerursache
festgestellt, dass eine aus nicht legitimierten Quellen gleich welcher
Herkunft stammende oder eine veränderte System-Software in die
Geräte geladen wurde, so ist dies ein Fremdeingriff. Ein Fremdein-
griff führt zum Erlöschen jeglicher Gewährleistungsansprüche.
GRUNDIG muss daher alle aus diesen Gründen resultierenden Ko-
stenerstattungen generell ablehnen. Instandsetzungskosten, auch
innerhalb der Gewährleistungszeit, gehen in diesen Fällen zu La-
sten des Händlers bzw. des Endkunden.

Service Notes
General Reset
General reset can be done at menu point "Reset Everything" of the
service menu (P. 1-12).
Attention: This function deletes also the operating hour meter and
the channel settings.
Ground Straps
Ground straps, which connect the display with the housing of the
unit, must be refitted after repair, to keep to EMI regulations. Straps,
which have been torn apart when removed, have to be substituted.
Software Update
Needed is:
- Update Program: "FlashUpgrader.exe" (for Windows 98 and Win-
dows ME) odr "FlashUpgraderNT.exe" (for Windows NT4.0, Win-
dows 2000 and Windows XP), will be delivered as .zip file. Upda-
te under Windows 95 is not possible.
- Null-Modem Cable: Serial data cable (RS232) with a 9 pin socket
on both sides. Please note: You need a cable with crossed wires
- New Software: Will be delivered as .zip file.
Update:
- Expand the update progam and the new software into a new fol-
der.
- Switch off the set using the mains switch.
- Start the corresponding update program.
- Select via "Choose..." the file "*.inf" of the firmware files in the
new folder.
- Set "Connection" to "Serial" and select the used COM port and
the baud rate (115200 is recommended).
- All other values has to be in default position.
- Select "Flash" to activate the program for the update.
- Switch on the set using the mains switch. The update procedure
starts automatically, the progress of the update can be watched
on the bar graph. Depending on the used baud rate, the down-
load will take between 3 to 6 minutes.
When the update is finished a message on the PC will indicate the
success. The set is now in stand by mode and can be started using
the remote control.
Warranty / costs
We expressly point out that only operating software authorized by
GRUNDIG is allowed. If a failure is caused by an operating software
which has been downloaded from not authorized sources, indepen-
dent of its origin, or by a modified software, this represents an outsi-
de interference. An outside interference leads to the expiration of
any warranty claims. For this reason, GRUNDIG is obliged to gene-
rally refuse any payment due to such infringements. In such cases,
the repair costs are at the charge of the retailer or the final custo-
mer, even within the period of warranty.
