Startup and initial operation
LED Operation Verification –
Applicable if light kit (MCLEDVO) is installed
• Install 2 AAA batteries into LED remote
• Turn on main power to fireplace control box
• Fireplace ON/OFF switch does not need to be turned on to operate
LED lights.
• Using the LED remote, turn lights OFF then ON
• Using the LED remote, switch between blue, red and green. When
each color is selected, verify all LEDs display the same color.
• Turn off the LEDs

Initial Fireplace Operation Verification –
If gas supply is connected
• Check that the door glass is clean. Clean if required.
• Check that the visible surfaces inside the fireplace and on the door
frame are free of smudges. Clean if required prior to initial lighting.
• Ensure the fan speed control toggle switch is set to the SLOW
position
• Refer to lighting instructions for information on how to light the
appliance.
• Turn the fireplace on using the control box ON/OFF switch. If the
fireplace remote option is installed, also turn on using the fireplace
remote. The following sequence of events should take place:
• The igniter will attempt to light the pilot. The Igniter will glow for
30 seconds, pause for 30 seconds. This cycle will occur twice
before the system enters a lockout mode. After 5 minutes the
system will attempt to light again.
• The pilot will light.
• The igniter will stop glowing.
• The Burner will light
• If driftwood logs have been installed, check the logs for carboning
and reposition if necessary.
• Refer to Troubleshooting if you encounter any issue during the
ignition sequence.

• Turn the fireplace on using the control box ON/OFF switch. If the fireplace
remote option is installed, also turn on using the fireplace remote.
• The fans will turn on and the hot surface igniter start to glow. If the
igniter doesn't glow within 1 min, refer to Troubleshooting.
Optimizing the Fan Speed
Adjust the fan to optimal operational speed by performing the
following steps. This will ensure the quietest operation possible at
slow speed.
Step 1: Ensure the fan speed control toggle switch is set to the
SLOW position
Step 2: Decrease the fan speed to the minimum speed using the
dial in the control box
Step 3: Turn the fireplace ON/OFF switch to the ON position. If the
fireplace remote option is installed, also turn on using the
fireplace remote.
Step 4: Slowly increase the fan speed in small increments until the
hot surface igniter starts to glow.
Note: It is very important that if while adjusting the fan speed you
would like to decrease it, you must begin again at step 2 to ensure
correct fan speed set-up.
