U8815 is a WCDMA bar-type handset developed by Huawei by adopting the QALCOMM
MSM7227A+PM8209 chip solution. The U8815 consists of MSM7227A, PM8209 and radio
frequency (RF) components. Its PCBA is connected to LCD using an FPC, to the receiver and
speaker through springs and an FPC, to the microphone (MIC) and motor by soldering, and to
the RF antenna through springs. All the preceding components plus the mechanical parts and
a battery form the handset. In addition to the voice and short message functions, U8815 also
supports storing phonebook entries and short messages to both the UIM card and the handset.
Furthermore, U8815 supports microSD storage cards. In terms of the hardware, the handset
supports FM radio and recording.
U8815 supports colored TFT LCD with the resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and provides
external ports, such as Micro USB charger ports and user identity module (UIM) card ports.
In addition, U8815 provides chord music ringtone, vibration, and FM. With the built-in
antenna, U8815 adopts a 1350 mAh Li-ion battery. Its standby time can reach up to 420 to
440 hours and the talk time can reach up to 6 to 8 hours depending on the actual network
condition.
