ROUTED IR OUTPUTS

These six routed IR emitter ports are supported by the ACA-E5 IR engine
and support IR passthrough. They are also carried by the RNET Link cable to
additional controllers.
Ports are shared by two sources (1/7, 2/8, 3/9, 4/10, 5/11, 6/12) The
shared IR uses a mono jack; if you are using routed IR for more than 6 sources,
use a dual emitter for the two sources that share an IR port.
Note: Since each routed port is used for two sources, do not use the same
source type for both sources sharing an IR port.
IR ALL
These three IR emitter ports are supported by the ACA-E5 IR engine and
support IR passthrough from any of the IR sources or zones. These allow
control of any source equipment without that source being selected on the
keypad. The connection for the IR ALL jack is made using an IR emitter with a
1/8'' plug. The Russound 845.1 single IR emitter is recommended, or use an
IR connecting block such as the Russound 857 which allows multiple units to
be controlled through an IR ALL Port.

IR CONNECTIONS

Each source component has a routed IR port on the back of the ACA-E5.
These IR ports are directly below the Keypad Ports connections.
Attach the end of the IR emitter with the 1/8" plug to the IR emitter port.
Remove the adhesive back at the other end of the emitter and attach the
emitter over the source component's IR window. When using the IR routed
outputs, in order to control this source component with IR, the source must be
selected at the keypad receiving the command.
IR IN WINDOW
The IR In window is located on the front of the ACA-E5 controller. It is used
for learning in IR with a remote control. Manufacturers' IR device codes are
located in the back of this manual.
