INITIAL OPERATION

Always use the correct supply voltage: the power supply
voltage must match the information quoted on the tool
identification plate.
MOUNTING THE PROTECTION DEVICES
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains
plug. When working with grinding and cutting wheels
(8), the movable guard (4) must be mounted.
Movable guard (4)
The coded protrusion (11) on the movable guard (4)
ensures that only a guard that fits the machine type can
be mounted.
Loosen the locking screw (12) if necessary.
Place the movable guard (4) with the coded
protrusion (11) in the coded groove on the spindle collar
[F1] and rotate to the required working position. [F2]
The closed side of the movable guard (4) must
always point toward the operator.
Tighten the locking screw (12).
Auxiliary handle (6)
When working with the machine, the auxiliary handle (6)
must be mounted.
Screw the auxiliary handle (6) into one of the thread
(10) on the machine.

MOUNTING THE WHEEL (8)

CAUTION! Before any work on the
machine itself, pull the mains plug.
Use only grinding tools whose allowable speed is at
least as high as the no-load speed of the machine.
Roughing and cutting wheels become very hot while
working; do not touch before they have cooled.
Mounting the grinding / cutting wheel (8)
Pay attention to the dimension of the wheel (8).
The internal diameter of the wheel must fit the inner
flange (7) without play. Do not use reducer pieces or
adapters. When using a cutting wheel (8), take care that
the direction of rotation arrow on the cutting wheel and
direction of rotation of the machine (direction of rotation
arrow on the machine head) point in the same direction.
Lock the spindle by pressing the spindle locking
button (3) (only when the tool is at a standstill!).
Unscrew the outer flange (9).
Fit the cutting wheel (8) on the inner flange (7).
Screw on the outer flange (9) and tighten with the
pin spanner (14). [F3]
Before switching on, check if the grinding wheel (8)
is properly mounted and can turn freely.
SWITCHING ON / OFF [F4]
The machine is equipped with a lock-off button (1) to
avoid unintentional starting.
Switching On
To switch the machine on, push the lock-off button (1)
and press the On / Off switch (5).
Switching Off
Release the On / Off switch (5).
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Grinding [F5]
The best results are achieved with an angle of 30° to
40° for grinding. Move the machine back and forth with
light pressure. In this manner, the workpiece does not
become too hot, no discolouration occurs and no ridges
are produced.
Under no circumstances should a cutting wheel be
used for roughing work.
Cutting [F6]
When cutting, do not press, tilt or oscillate. Work with a
moderate feed rate that is suited to the material to be worked.
The direction in which one cuts is important.
The machine must always rotate opposite to the
direction of motion; therefore never move the machine
in the other direction! Otherwise, the danger exists that
it will be forced uncontrolled out of the cut.
When cutting profiles or square pipes it is best to start
with the smallest cross section.
SPEED SELECTION [F7]
With the speed selection thumbwheel (15) the required
speed can be selected (also while running).
The required speed is dependent on the material and
can be determined with practical trials. After longer
periods of working at low speed, allow the machine to
cool by running for approximately 3 minutes at maximum
speed with no load.
