Cooling System Safety

Swallowing engine coolant can cause poisoning;
keep out of reach from children and pets.
Discharge of hot, pressurized coolant or touching
a hot radiator and surrounding parts can cause
severe burns.
– Always allow the engine to cool at least 15
minutes before removing the radiator cap.
– Use a rag when opening the radiator cap, and
open the cap slowly to allow steam to escape.
Do not operate the machine without the covers
in place.
Keep your fingers, hands and clothing clear of
rotating fan and drive belt.
Shut off the engine and remove the key before
performing maintenance.
Checking the Cooling
System
Service Interval: Before each use or daily
Check the coolant level at the beginning of each day.
The capacity of the system is 8.5 L (9 US qt).
1.
Carefully remove the radiator cap and
expansion-tank cap
2.
Check the coolant level in the radiator.
Note:
The radiator should be filled to the top
of the filler neck and the expansion tank filled
to the Full mark.

If the coolant is low, add a 50/50 mixture of water
and ethylene glycol anti-freeze.

Important:
alcohol/methanol based coolants, as this
may cause damage.

Install the radiator cap and expansion-tank cap.
