Does not use SteadyShot. This setting is
recommended when you use a tripod.

• [ACTIVE] can be selected when recording
movies using a lens with optical SteadyShot
complying with [ACTIVE].
• You cannot set [STEADYSHOT] when an E16
mm F2.8 lens (sold separately) or an A-mount
lens (sold separately) is attached.

Does not display color bars.
ON
Displays color bars on the screen, records
them on recording media, and outputs tone
signals.
This function helps you to adjust colors
when you view movies recorded with your
camcorder on a TV or a monitor.
b Notes
• This function is automatically set to [OFF]
when you switch the format, perform the
function by the MENU button, or turn off the
camcorder.
• You cannot change the setting during recording
or expanded focus operation.
• The time code does not advance while recording
the color bars.
TONE

Outputs audio tone signals (1 kHz: full bit
-20 dB). Set [ON/OFF] to [ON], too.
z Tips
• You can assign an ASSIGN button to work as
[ON/OFF] (p. 48).
• If you record color bars with [TONE] set to
[OFF], the camcorder records sound from the
microphone.
