    Shared Internet Access. All users on the LAN or WLAN can access the Internet through the LevelOne 22Mbps Wireless AP Router, using only a single external IP Ad- dress. The local (invalid) IP Addresses are hidden from external sources. This process is called NAT (Network Address Translation).

    PCs on your local LAN may also require configuration. For details, see Chapter 4 - PC Con- figuration. Other configuration may also be required, depending on which features and functions of the LevelOne 22Mbps Wireless AP Router you wish to use.     Using your Web Browser To establish a connection from your PC to the LevelOne 22Mbps Wireless AP Router: 1. After installing the LevelOne 22Mbps Wireless AP Router in your LAN, start your PC. If your PC is already running, restart it.

    TCP/IP IP Address IP address for the LevelOne 22Mbps Wireless AP Router, as seen from the local LAN. Use the default value unless the address is already in use or your LAN is using a different IP address range. In the latter case, enter an unused IP Address from within the range used by your LAN.
  • Page 18 Server, rather than the LevelOne 22Mbps Wireless AP Router's, the following procedure is required. 1. Disable the DHCP Server feature in the LevelOne 22Mbps Wireless AP Router. This setting is on the LAN screen. 2. Configure the DHCP Server to provide the LevelOne 22Mbps Wireless AP Router's IP Address as the Default Gateway.

    The Wireless Access Point settings must match the other Wireless stations. To change the LevelOne 22Mbps Wireless AP Router's default settings for the Wireless Access Point feature, use the Wireless link on the main menu to reach the Wireless screen. An example screen is shown below.
  • Page 20 Setup • WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) status will display "Enabled" or WEP data "Disabled", depending on whether WEP is being used. If used, encryption data is Encrypted before being transmitted, making communica- tion more secure. • Click the "Configure WEP" button to access the WEP sub-screen, and view or change the WEP settings.

  • Page 22 Setup 128 Bit Encryption • If selected, data is encrypted using the key before being transmit- ted. The receiving station must be set to use 128 Bit Encryption, and have the same Key value. Otherwise, it will not be able to de- crypt the data.

    If you use Internet applications which use non-standard connections or port numbers, you may find that they do not function correctly because they are blocked by the LevelOne 22Mbps Wireless AP Router 's firewall. In this case, you can define the application as a "Special Application".

Overview Normally, it is not necessary to use these screens, or change any settings. These screens and settings are provided to deal with non-standard situations, or to provide additional options for advanced users.

If you follow the suggested steps and the LevelOne 22Mbps Wireless AP Router still does not function prop- erly, contact your dealer for further advice.
