Disassembling the Pole
1. Rotate the coupler counterclockwise to unscrew it from the
upper pole shaft (Fig. 2).
2. Remove the lower pole shaft from the upper pole shaft (Fig. 1).
This may require a firm pull.
ADJUSTING THE POLE LENGTH
Adjust the length of the pole, as needed. To help maintain proper
balance, only extend the pole to the minimum length required to
reach the limb being cut.
1. Hold the pole grip firmly with one hand (Fig. 3).
2. Rotate the collar clockwise to unlock the collar (Fig. 3).
3. Slide the upper pole shaft up or down to achieve the desired
length (Fig. 3).
4. Rotate the collar counterclockwise to lock the collar and the
upper pole shaft securely in place (Fig. 3).
ADJUSTING THE CUTTING ANGLE
Adjust the cutting angle, as needed. There are several predefined
positions.
1. Press and hold both pivot buttons (Fig. 4).
2. Pivot the powerhead until it is at the desired angle (Fig. 4).
3. Release the pivot buttons.
4. Make sure the powerhead is securely locked in place.
ADDING BAR AND CHAIN OIL: INITIAL USE
This unit comes from the factory with the chain oil reservoir empty.
Fill the chain oil reservoir with bar and chain oil before starting or
using the unit. Refer to Adding Bar and Chain Oil instructions in the
Maintenance section.
ADJUSTING THE CHAIN TENSION: INITIAL USE
The saw chain must be properly tensioned before attempting to
start or operate the unit. The saw chain may also require additional
tensioning as the saw chain heats up during operation. Refer to
Adjusting the Chain Tension instructions in the Maintenance section.
