Edit the Scan List in the Motorola XTS2500 and XTS5000 Portable Radios

This is a short course on how to edit the scan list for a Motorola XTS series portable radio. Editing allows you to add or

delete channels in the scan list and set priorities. Upon completion of the editing you will be able to listen to the

customized scan list on your radio.

1. Press the '4-way Navigation Button'

Page 2 3. The square box at the top of the screen will flash indicating that you are in the scan programming mode. 4. Use the select ‘SEL’ button to add channels to the scan list. Move the channel selector and the zone switch to navigate to the channels you would like to add to your list.
Page 3 5. To make one channel a priority on your scan list hit the select button a second time while programming that channel. This will change the scan icon to a priority scan icon on the display. On some radios you can select up to two different priority channels.
