Troubleshooting the pointing device on the computer
The multi-pointer is not working
❑ The multi-pointer is disabled. Use Sony Notebook Setup to enable the multi-pointer.
❑ The Press to Select function of the multi-pointer on your computer may be disabled. Proceed as follows to enable the function.
1 Click Start and then Control Panel.
The Control Panel window appears.
2 Click the Printers and Other Hardware icon.
3 Click the Mouse icon.
The Mouse Properties window appears.
4 Click the Device Settings tab.
5 Click Settings.
6 Click Press to Select on the left side.
7 Click to select the Enable Press-to-Select check box.
8 Click OK.
❑ Your computer's multi-pointer uses static electricity from a human body to locate a position. If static electricity is discharged from
a human body, the multi-pointer may be temporarily disabled.
Press the STANDBY button on your computer to put the system into Standby mode and press it again to bring the system back
into normal mode.
❑ The HOLD switch on your computer may be turned on.
When the HOLD switch is on, the multi-pointer is disabled. Slide the HOLD switch in the reverse direction of the arrow.
