Engine identification
It is possible, using the Vehicle
Identification Number (VIN), to
determine the engine type that is
installed in your vehicle. The seventh
digit denotes the engine type:
Digit Engine
P or S: 2.0 Diesel, M9R 630
L, N or W: 2.0 Petrol, F4R 820
C: 1.9 Diesel, F9Q 760
E, H, M or T: 2.0 Diesel, M9R 786
U: 2.0 Diesel, M9R 788
J, R or V: 2.5 Diesel, G9U 630
Engine identifier code and
engine number
Stamped on the lower rear of the
engine block on an identification
plate.
