SCART cable
A SCART cable is also known as 'Peritel' cable
and is commonly used in Europe to connect the
audio and video equipment. A fully furnished
SCART cable has 21 wires which is at both sides
finished with a 21-pin connector.
SVHS
SVHS means Super-VHS and is superior to a
CVBS signal but less then a RGB signal.
Normally it is a single cable consisting of four
wires because the black/white (luminance) is
separated from the color (chrominance).
Symbol rate
Invisible information which tells the receiver at
which speed (rate) the transponder sends the
digital information (symbols). The receiver must
be able to handle the Symbol rate to process the
signal correctly into a correct image.
Transponder
Equipment inside a satellite responsible for
receiving a single uplinked channel and
rebroadcasting it back to Earth.
Vertical
In the satellite industry, Vertical is used to
indicate the direction in which the received signal
is polarized. Normally abbreviated as V.
Widescreen
Widescreen refers to the 16:9 aspect ratio. When
you view 16:9 programmes the complete screen
is filled without distortion or loss of video. If you
view 4:3 programs, you will have black banners
left and right of the picture.

EARCH MODES
All
The built-in database is used to select the
available transponders. The digital channels that
belong to these transponders are searched for
and added to the end of the channel list.
Network
The built-in database or information from the
received stream is used to search for the
transponders that are included with the currently
received network. The digital channels that
belong to this network are searched for and
added to the end of the channel list.
TP
The built-in database or information from the
received stream is used to search for or scan in
the selected transponder. The digital channels
that belong to this transponder only are searched
for or scanned in and added to the end of the
channel list.
FTA
The built-in database is used to only search for
the available Free-To-Air channels which are
then added the end of the channel list.
In the real world it seems that the service
providers do not always accurately code their
channels with a scrambled or FTA code. For this
reason you may find that some searched
channels are Scrambled. Also there is a
possibility that FTA channels are coded as
Scrambled These channels will then be missed
out because of the erroneous code.
