Suffix Dialing (Dialing During Speech)

When communicating with and controlling a voice mail system, or for
example, retrieving information through your telephone about your bank
account, you need to use Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) signals,
this is known as suffix dialing. The suffix dialing function is permanently
active for all calls in speech.
All digits entered are automatically converted by the exchange into
DTMF signals which are then transmitted along the connected lines.
