    Chapter 3 Removing, Installing, and Replacing Components This chapter describes removing, installing, and replacing major components for upgrading, reconfiguring, and troubleshooting the components. Before opening the system unit, save and close all open files, exit all open applications, turn off the power to all attached peripheral devices, shut down the computer, and unplug the power cord.

    VAIO Digital Studio System Reference Manual Replacing the Lithium Battery You may need to replace the lithium battery if your computer consistently loses the date or time settings after turning it off. The lithium battery has a typical life of three years, after which the battery may be too weak to power the CMOS memory.
  • Page 45 ✍ The Sony CR2032 battery is recommended. Using a type of battery other than a CR2032 may present a risk of fire or explosion. Replace any add-in cards that were removed.

Slide the new drive into the bottom part of the drive holder and align the holes on each side of the drive holder. Secure the drive to the drive holder using screws in each of the two holes on each side of the drive holder (screws are provided with the new drive).
