You can display the connection resources of an automation system in the hardware
configuration. You will find the connection resources in the Inspector window in the
properties of the CPU.

① Station-specific connection resources
The columns of the station-specific connection resources provide information about the used
and available connection resources of the station.
In the example, a maximum of 256 station-specific connection resources are available for the
automation system.
• 10 reserved connection resources, of which 4 are already in use and a further 6 available.
The used resources are divided up as follows:
– 4 Resources for HMI communication
• 246 dynamic connection resources, of which 26 are already in use and a further 220
available.
The used resources are divided up as follows:
– 6 resources for HMI communication
– 7 resources for S7 communication
– 13 resources for Open User Communication
