If you experience unusual readings, even after the recommended rest period, please consult your medical professional. • Excessive use may result in blood flow interference, which is likely to cause uncomfortable sensations, such as partial subcutaneous hemorrhage, or temporary numbness to your arm.

    ABOUT BLOOD PRESSURE Blood pressure is the pressure exerted on the artery walls while blood flows through the arteries. The pressure measured when the heart contracts and sends blood out of the heart is systolic (highest) blood pressure. The pressure measured when the heart dilates with blood flowing back into the heart is called diastolic (lowest) blood pressure.

    BLOOD PRESSURE STANDARD This table contains defined levels for hypertension that are publicly ® available from the American Heart Association (AHA 2017). Users can compare their own blood pressure readings against these defined levels to determine if they may potentially be at an increased risk. This table is applicable to most adults aged 18 and older.

    HOW THIS BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR WORKS This monitor uses innovative GentleInflate™ technology to detect your blood pressure. With one touch of a button, the monitor automatically takes the reading during inflation, then deflates, delivering a quick, comfortable and quiet measurement every time. Please note that any muscle movement during inflation will cause measurement error.

    DISPLAY EXPLANATIONS Date/Time Indicator Systolic Pressure Diastolic Pressure Heart Rate Irregular Heartbeat Detector Display Symbols: User 1: Appears when the monitor is operated by User 1. User 2: Appears when the monitor is operated by User 2. Low Battery Symbol: Appears when batteries should be replaced, or+/- polarities have been positioned incorrectly.
  • Page 11 AM/PM Average: Indicates the reading being displayed is an average from the last 3 morning or last 3 evening measurements. Data Transmitting: Appears when data is transferring to your mobile device. Triple-Check (Multi-Read) Function Result: Indicates which measurement is being taken, or which measurement is being viewed from a Triple-Check (Multi-Read) average reading.

    INSTALLING BATTERIES 1. Press down on latch and lift the battery cover to open the battery compartment. 2. Install or replace 4 “AA ” batteries in the battery compartment according to the indications inside the compartment. Battery 3.     USING THE AC ADAPTER 1. Connect the AC adapter with the AC adapter jack as shown below. 2. Please use only the AC adapter included with this monitor. NOTE: • Date and time will need to be reset if AC adapter is unplugged and unit is without batteries.

    DATE & TIME SET PROCEDURE Date and time can be set by two methods, either sync automatically using your Bluetooth mobile device, or set manually using the ® “Date & Time Set” and “MEM” buttons. If setting the date and time by syncing with your mobile device, it is important that this is done prior to taking any measurements to ensure the date and time are accurate.
  • Page 15 To Set Manually: 1. To set the date and time, press the “Date & Time Set” button 2. The display will show a blinking number showing the MONTH. Change the MONTH by pressing the “MEM” button. Each press will increase the number by one in a cycling manner. Press the button again to confirm the entry and the screen will show a blinking number representing the DAY.

    BLUETOOTH OPERATION ® This monitor has Bluetooth function ON for your convenience. This will allow your readings to automatically transmit to the BP Health App. By turning this function OFF, the measurements cannot be transmitted. Turning Bluetooth Function OFF: While the screen is off (nothing is shown on the screen), press and hold the Bluetooth button or 3 seconds to turn Bluetooth OFF.

    USING TRIPLE-CHECK (MULTI-READ) FUNCTION The Triple-Check (Multi-Read) Function automatically takes and averages 3 readings in a row, with 1 minute rest intervals in between each measurement.   • Page 18: Using The Ultrasoft Arm Cuff

    USING THE ULTRASOFT ARM CUFF ® Very Important: Proper cuff size is critical to accurate measurement. This monitor comes with one UltraSoft Upper Arm Cuff that fits arm circumferences from 9"-17" (23cm-43cm). If the arrow falls outside of the solid-colored line, you will need a larger cuff.

    ™ CHECK-WITH-CONFIDENCE This monitor includes a built-in Check-with-Confidence feature provides accuracy assurance function, which enables the device to automatically perform a self- check.     MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE IMPORTANT NOTES: • Blood pressure changes with every heartbeat and is in constant fluctuation throughout the day. • Blood pressure measurement can be affected by the position of the user, his or her physiologic condition, and other factors. Before Measurement: To help ensure an accurate reading, follow these instructions before taking a measurement:...
  • Page 24 Using Single Measurement Mode: 1. Please make sure the Triple-Check switch, located on the side of the unit, is in the OFF position. Triple-Check 2. Press the “ ” button to choose User 1 or User 2. After the user number is selected, press the “START/STOP” button to confirm the user.
  • Page 25 NOTE: • This monitor automatically returns to standby mode approximately 1 minute after last operation. You may also press the “START/STOP” button to return to standby mode. • To interrupt the measurement, you may press the “START/STOP” button (recommended) or “MEM” buttons.

    TRANSMIT READINGS TO YOUR MOBILE DEVICE This monitor syncs your blood pressure readings to the BP Health App that is free to download on the App Store and on Google Play™. Make sure you have the BP Health App downloaded, and open on your mobile device before trying to transmit your blood pressure measurements.
  • Page 28 • Only new readings will be accepted by the app. • The blood pressure monitor can only be assigned to one Walgreens user account. • To ensure readings transmitted to the app have the correct date and time, it is important that the correct date and time is set on the blood pressure monitor before taking measurements.

    RISK CATEGORY INDEX This monitor comes equipped with a Risk Category Indicator that automatically compares each reading to defined levels established by the American Heart Association (AHA 2017) as described earlier in this ® manual, and provides a helpful cue if your reading falls into one of the stages that could potentially indicate increased risk.

    IRREGULAR HEARTBEAT DETECTOR The appearance of the icon indicates that a pulse irregularity consistent with an irregular heartbeat was detected during measurement. Usually this is not a cause for concern. However, if the symbol appears often, we recommend you seek medical advice.

    EXCESSIVE BODY MOTION DETECTOR icon is displayed if body movement is detected during measurement, especially the movement of the arm the blood pressure monitor is worn on. Excessive Body Motion Detector NOTE: • The measured blood pressure reading may not be accurate if the icon is displayed.

    RECALLING VALUES FROM MEMORY This monitor can be used by 2 individuals. Each user can store up to 120 measurements. This monitor features an advanced memory mode to provide you with a variety of options for reviewing your measurement history, including AM/PM averaging.
  • Page 34 2. Press the “MEM” button to access the memory. 3. The monitor will first display the calculated average applied to the last 3 memories. 4. Press the “MEM” button again and the monitor will display the average of the last 3 AM memories. NOTE: If there are fewer than 3 AM measurements in memory, this average will not be displayed.

NOTE: • If the last 3 readings were a Triple-Check average, then the Triple- Check average will be displayed. • Memory averaging function will only average individual readings.     CLEARING VALUES FROM MEMORY 1. Press “ ” button to select User 1 or User 2. 2. Press the “MEM” button to enter into memory recall mode. 3. Press and hold the “MEM” and the “START/STOP” buttons at the same time and the data for the selected user will be erased automatically.

    IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE MEASUREMENT • It is suggested that you take your measurements at the same time each day and use the same arm for consistency. • Users should wait a minimum of 5 minutes before taking additional measurements.

    CARE, MAINTENANCE, & CLEANING • Clean the blood pressure monitor body and cuff carefully with a slightly damp, soft cloth. Do not press. Do not wash cuff or use chemical cleaner on it. Never use thinner, alcohol, or petrol (gasoline) as cleaner.

For most wireless communication devices, it is recommended to maintain a distance of 10.8 feet (3.3m) in order to avoid electromagnetic interference.
